You can expect a straightforward and simple process at our office. Prior to visiting our office, our team will collect your medical insurance information and give you an exact quote of your out-of-pocket portion for an oral appliance at Dental Sleep Apnea and Snoring. We are in-network with most major insurance companies, and are proud to accept both Medicare and Tricare. You will never be charged a single penny more than you were quoted. Here’s some more good news: there is almost always $0 out of pocket for Medicare patients!
Your first appointment will consist of an examination by Dr. E where he will determine what type of dental appliance will give you the best results. Our team will also take a digital impression of your teeth (we don’t use goop for impressions at our office), and Dr. E will digitally record the exact, comfortable, starting position where the oral appliance will be built.
At your second appointment, you will receive your oral appliance. The only goal for the first 2 weeks is to be able to comfortably wear your new oral appliance. We then use a 90-day grace period (where there are not any charges for appointments) to slowly adjust the oral appliance to the best position to minimize, or hopefully completely eliminate, your symptoms. Telemed appointments are primarily utilized for these appointments, however, if something is uncomfortable we bring you back to the office to adjust the area that is causing discomfort.
Once we have positioned your oral appliance in the best way possible to reduce or eliminate your symptoms a note will be sent to your doctor, so they can evaluate the success of the oral appliance. Depending on your personal situation, your doctor may suggest a follow-up sleep study to confirm that the oral appliance is working the way we want it to.
Once we have everything exactly the way we want it we check back in with you after 6 months, and then annually after that – to ensure you have long-term success with your new oral appliance.
